I will be hosting a Beanie for Brain Cancer Day at my workplace, Royal North Shore Hospital on June 1st, 2018. There will be beanies for sale, a huge raffle and lots of fun- all proceeds will be donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation and their fight to find a cure to this insidious disease.
Brain cancer is the biggest killer of children compared to any other disease, and the biggest killer of adults under 40 compared to other cancers. These survival rates haven't changed in 30 years! On top of that, it is the most costly cancer per patient, yet receives very little government funding.
The foundation also plays a huge role in patient and family support through the diagnosis and treatment of this terrible disease, something which I have unfortunately experienced personally.
My mum was diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer at the start of 2016, and sadly lost her battle at the end of 2017. She was 52. The foundation were a huge support during those hard 2 years, right up until the very end.
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Mark Hughes Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
